Half day hiking in the magnificent Valley of Afareaitu, lush vegetation, forest ferns, fruit and tropical flowers in abundance, archaeological sites, waterfalls, and rivers lined with flowers and natural pools where you can swim. Welcome to the Garden of Eden! Many stops on the way to discover the plants and their daily use by the Polynesians. Your guide will tell you the legends surrounding the valley. Braiding sessions with coconut leaves, swims, tasting fresh organic fruits will also round off this pleasant half day tour.

On this half day hike, you will discover...

The richness of the local flora: you will meet many flowers, plants, trees and fruits on the way. Your guide will explain their medicinal properties and their use in everyday life, such as the breadfruit tree whose trunk was used as candles for lighting but also as ink for tattoos. Braiding session of coconut leaves and tasting of local fruits with your guide.

Archaeology: many remains of Polynesian dwellings are still visible today. Your guide will tell you some local legends linked to the Afareaitu 's valley.

Natural sites of great beauty: many natural pools present in the valley formed by river beds. You can enjoy a refreshing swim in one of them. And if the weather permits, the end of the route will lead you to the Afareaitu's waterfall.
